In December 2017 Chris and his wife Laura were devastated when their baby, Willow, arrived 13 weeks premature. Fortunately, having received lifesaving treatment at The Rosie Hospital, she pulled through and is now 16 months old and thriving. However, the family could not be more grateful for the support they received from The Sick Children's Trust during this time.
I can safely say that the only reason we have managed to get through these past months with our sanity intact is because our family has been able to stay at Eckersley House run by The Sick Children’s Trust.

On Saturday 5 May, supporters are invited to join The Sick Children's Trust at Carlton Towers for afternoon tea. The event is being held in honour of a little girl called Kayleigh, whose family were supported at Eckersley House and whose story has inspired a Castleford businesswoman to donate her wedding venue.

Tim Prosser spent hours pounding the pavements in the run up to the Brentwood Half Marathon, due to take place last month. However, following the UK’s worst weather in decades, the event had to be cancelled for the first time in 37 years. Determined not to let this stop him, Tim carried on with his fundraising mission and completed his own virtual half marathon a few weeks later.
Scott House took away a lot of the anxiety my teenage daughter was feeling and enabled her to relax before her operation.

13 year old Darcy Hoffman and her mum, Leanne , stayed with The Sick Children's Trust at Scott House whilst she underwent a life changing procedure at Freeman Hospital. Diagnosed with a heart condition known as cardiac dysrhythmia when she was just three weeks old, meaning she had an abnormal heartbeat, Darcy had needed to take copious amounts of medication to keep her healthy up to this point.

Lauren and Andrew were supported by us at Chestnut Houses after the birth of their identical triplet boys, Ted, Tom, and Ralphy, in February 2014. Sadly Ralphy didn’t make it and died in his parents’ arms, but Ted and Tom are now four years old. Lauren and Andrew are taking on the Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100 miles cycle challenge to raise £30 for every night Ralphy was in hospital, £1,470.
The Sick Children’s Trust was there for us when we didn’t think our precious baby girl was going to make it; without them I don’t know how we would have survived.

We supported Rhiannon and Zak in Chestnut House for three weeks when their daughter Luna was recovering from necrotising enterocolitis.. Luna has since battled pneumonia, been declared profoundly deaf and had stoma reversal surgery at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. When the family returned to Cambridge for Luna’s second operation, Rhiannon and Zak stayed with us again at Acorn House.
