North East Snowflake Ball set to raise thousands for families with seriously ill children in hospital

This year's Snowflake Ball is on the horizon and we are excited to welcome guests once again to Newcastle Gateshead Marriott Hotel.
As far as we could in a strange city, we felt at home at Crawford House and normal life could go on.

Siobhan was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis when she was born and at the age of 15 had to undergo a lung transplant. For this, Siobhan and her family had to fly over to England from Ireland for specialist treatment at The Royal Victoria Infirmary and for the transplant at Freeman Hospital. We supported her family at Crawford and Scott Houses.
We never knew such a great charity existed. The Sick Children’s Trust was there for us with no questions asked

When their son was just a few days old, Elle and Peter were told that he had haemophilia, which meant that his blood wasn’t clotting. Zachary was transferred to Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary for specialist treatment which is when the couple were introduced to Crawford House for the first time. Zachary has been back to the hospital and his parents were once again given a 'Home from Home'.

In 2013, we supported Alfie's family at Crawford House when he was rushed to Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary after he stopped breathing. Alfie was there for two weeks before sadly passing away. Since then, his family have raised £20,000 for The Sick Children's Trust.

Samson was born with a trachea-oesophageal fistula with oesophageal atresia. He required immediate surgery, and was transferred to the Royal Victoria Infirmary where we supported his family at Crawford House. At 9 months, he was admitted onto the Children’s Heart Unit at the Freeman Hospital for open heart surgery and we supported his family at Scott House.
