Freya-Lilly was born full term weighing in at over 9lbs. However, she was seriously ill after inhaling meconium during labour. Freya spent two weeks at Colchester Hospital, but after showing no signs of improvement she was transferred to The Rosie Hospital, where we supported her family at Chestnut House.

When Lily was six months old, she had meningitis. Her illness was sudden, just an hour before her parents Carly and Rickie realised she was poorly she was smiling and laughing. But overnight Lily became seriously ill and it was clear that her life was in danger. Lily was rushed from Barnet Hospital to GOSH where eventually she was stabilised. We supported Mum and Dad at Guilford Street House.

Oscar is a very happy little boy, but last Winter all of a sudden he had his first ever seizure. Mum Georgia and Dad Kyle sat by his hospital bedside for ten days at Addenbrooke's Hospital - miles away from home, but because of The Sick Children's Trust they could be there within minutes of him waking up every morning.

Over 100 nurseries, playgroups and schools across the UK took party in Pyjama Party - and raised £18,000!
The best thing was if I woke up in the middle of the night and wanted to see Stanley, I could just go upstairs and he was there. I was never far away from my baby boy.

Stanley was born at 27 weeks, weighing 2lb 1oz. We supported his family in Chestnut House while he received his treatment.
Having Magnolia House meant we could focus 100% of our time and energy on helping our little girl recover.

Ella experienced meconium at birth and was transferred to Sheffield Children’s Hospital as the doctors thought they could see a blockage in her bowl. Fortunately, it was an infection and not a blockage as expected, but we supported her Mum and Dad at Magnolia House when she was being treated.
Thanks to The Sick Children’s Trust’s ‘Homes from Home’; we could be with the boys at any time, which meant the world to us.

James and Alex are about to celebrate their first birthday despite being born at 29 weeks. We supported their family at Chestnut and Acorn House.

Henry was born with a life-threatening condition - a twisted bowel. And during his time at Sheffield Children's Hospital he was also diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. Throughout his treatment at Sheffield Children's Hospital, Henry's parents Miriam and Adam were given free 'Home from Home' accommodation at Magnolia House.

When Luke was 12 years old, he began to have severe headaches which resulted in emergency surgery. We supported his family at Crawford House until Luke was well enough to go home.

Albie was born at just over 26 weeks and it wasn’t until he was five hours old that his parents, Tyler and Michala, got to meet him. He was rushed off to The Rosie Hospital, from Colchester, and over the next nine weeks his parents watched him fight for survival. During their time at The Rosie Hospital, we supported the couple in Chestnut House.

Rosie was born six weeks prematurely with many complications and needed transferring to The Rosie Hospital. Her mum, Katie, was separated from her baby for nine hours. Katie hadn’t slept for three days and was in a state of worry and panic, but to her relief was given a set of keys to Chestnut House.
We were back in LGI, once again desperately fearing for our son’s life, but Eckersley House helped us through it.

When Marcus was four years old, he the first person in the UK to be diagnosed with a condition called abdominal aortic aneurysm. Thankfully, he overcame it but seven years later, he was admitted back to hospital, fighting for life once again. During his time at Leeds General Infirmary, his parents - Sarah and Paul - were supported at Eckersley House.
