Carmen Jimenz started volunteering with us in January. She has been supporting our fundraising team and also our Big Chocolate Tea campaign. She called in during half-term to show her twin boys, Daniel and Kieran, where she works. She says:
“After spending 19 years in education, I really wanted to get some experience in the field and The Sick Children’s Trust is perfect for that.
“My niece had a premature baby a few years ago and was supported with free accommodation, so I really wanted to give back. I think it’s really important to give back to charity; there are charities that have helped my family so I wanted to do something.
“Also, by supporting the fundraising team with doing tasks helps them focus on the incredible work they do. The charity is very efficient and I feel I can help with that efficiency by fillings the gaps with the jobs I do.”
Thank you Carmen for all your support over the last months – it was a pleasure to meet your family too!
