Lottie has defied everyone’s expectations to make it home in time for Christmas. We couldn’t be happier and can’t wait to introduce our greatest gift to all our friends and family.

Please see the attached family story. Kim and her partner, Jamie, were terrified when they were told their unborn baby had duodenal atresia, which meant that a portion of her small intestine was closed off. Lottie needed lifesaving surgery at Sheffield Children’s Hospital just hours after birth.
Without the charity’s help, finding a way to keep our family together would’ve been incredibly hard.

Will and Vicky Simpson stayed with us at Stevenson House after Sophia was born at 24 weeks gestation weighing just 1lb 10oz. She overcame many challenges during the initial few weeks of her life and was transferred to Broomfield Hospital, closer to home, at just eight weeks old. Miraculously her parents took her home for the first time last Wednesday, which is where they will celebrate Christmas.
I’m so proud of my little heart warrior and can’t wait for our first Christmas at home as a family. But we’ll never forget The Sick Children’s Trust’s support at Christmastime last year.

Mum Stacey wasn't able to spend Christmas Day with her newborn daughter Olivia, but thanks to Scott House, Olivia's Dad was with her, ensuring that she didn't wake up on her first Christmas morning alone.

Ruby Price went into labour just 23 weeks into her pregnancy and was rushed to from Southend Hospital to The Rosie Hospital in Cambridge where she gave birth five days later. Leighton weighed 1lb 6oz and Lola only 1lb 2oz. Doctors warned the traumatised parents that there was a strong chance they would lose both babies. Miraculously, against all odds, they pulled through!

Esmae suddenly became seriously ill just a week before Christmas and within days had lost movement in her entire body. She was diagnosed with a rare disease called transverse myelitis, which was causing inflammation of her spinal cord and swelling on her brain. Esmae spent the entire of Christmas in hospital, but didn’t wake up alone on Christmas morning because of Magnolia House.

Imogen was born with a rare condition known as Poland syndrome, which effects very few children and is characterised by the webbing of the fingers and underdevelopment of chest muscle. As a result, Imogen has undergone two major surgeries at Leeds Children's Hospital during which time her parents have been supported at Eckersley House.
In the middle of the night, when I couldn’t sleep, I was able to express and take milk up to Leo on the ward and would sit with him so he knew he wasn’t alone.

After a very long labour baby Leo suffered from a pneumothorax when he took his first breath. He required lifesaving treatment at The Rosie Hospital, an hour away from the family's home. His parents and older brother, Jenson, stayed in Chestnut House for five days whilst he recovered and Leo made it home when he was 12 days old. He turned one year old in May this year.
Crawford House is like a warm blanket wrapping itself around families with seriously ill children in hospital.

I remember the first night I stayed in Stevenson House I hardly slept. Knowing Isla was so close was comforting and I wanted to be with her all the time, but I also knew I needed to rest so I could be strong for my baby.

Ashley went into labour just 24 weeks into her pregnancy and was rushed to her local hospital. Unable to stop the labour, doctors delivered twin girls, Esme and Isla. Tragically, Esme was stillborn, but Isla had a faint heartbeat and was rushed up to the neonatal intensive care unit before being transferred over to London a few hours later for lifesaving treatment.

At a week old, Lana's son, Nathan, was unexpectedly rushed to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle when he started to struggle to breathe. On arrival, he deteriorated and was put into an induced coma. For three weeks his parents were supported at Crawford House while Nathan battled for survival.
